BACKGROUND

"Sonoaida," is an art project leaded by artist Akira Fujimoto, started in 2015. The project utilizes buildings slated for demolition or vacant properties as temporary spatial media."Sonoaida #Shin-Yurakucho," is one of the series and began in December 2021. A-TOM Co., LTD., became an organizer to bring fresh perspectives and insights to the city through the unique viewpoints of artists, fostering new values for the future.

CONCEPT

"Sonoaida #Shin-Yurakucho” transforms a vacant retail space on the first floor of Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd.’s Shin-Yurakucho Building into a spatial media. One of the programs, “ARTISTS STUDIO” involves artists relocating their production environments to the space for approximately one and a half months, during which they create works, showcase their production process, and sell their art. The artists participating in the studio program rotate periodically, ensuring a continuous presence of artists at work.
Additionally, we hold "OUTSCHOOL" - a program for learning about contemporary art through practical experience, as well as irregularly scheduled workshops.Together, these initiatives propose a new form of community where diverse individuals involved in art or even others can gather.

Meta Fair #01

Meta Fair #01, an NFT art fair, is set to take place in Yurakucho this March. This groundbreaking event is Japan's first NFT art fair where 20 leading contemporary artists are collaborating with NFT specialists to explore NFTs as a form of fine art.
In a time when the "NFT Art" market has become somewhat disconnected from the traditional fine art scene, Meta Fair #01 seeks to address the crucial question: what significance does NFT technology hold for contemporary art? As society increasingly looks towards a "meta" world, where does the value of art reside? And how should contemporary art position itself in a near future where the physical and virtual coexist?
This art fair is an attempt by the participating artists to confront these questions directly and to pose them to society at large.
