OUTSCHOOL

BACKGROUND

Public lectures and publications targeting businesspeople, focusing on how art is taught and its processes, are becoming increasingly common. However, it feels as though art and "art thinking" remain vaguely defined and difficult to access. When artists produce their work, what kind of thinking process do they go through? When businesspeople learn about it, what exactly can they gain from it?
At “OUTSCHOOL”, we believe the answer lies in the process of “output”.By confronting societal challenges from an artist's perspective and actively integrating art into society, participants gain a sense of agency that profoundly impacts their business and daily lives.

CONCEPT

OUT SCHOOL is not an art school for those already well-versed in fine arts. Even complete beginners with no prior knowledge of art production can, in just one short month, cultivate their own artistic perspective through this intensive short-term course and production program designed for working professionals.
We invite active artists at the forefront of the art scene, as well as leading curators and gallerists who are experts in the industry, to serve as instructors. The program combines theoretical learning with extensive practical application and discussion to unravel the output process. Through the experience of each participant shaping their individual sensibilities, we anticipate a transformative shift in how they connect with society.

SERVICE

The true essence of "Art Thinking" gained through one month of intensive focus

While long-term learning is undoubtedly valuable, this is a boot camp program designed for a concentrated, one-month period. Participants will physically engage with art alongside instructors, allowing them to acquire new ways of thinking and deeper insights in the shortest possible time.

Cultivating an Artist's "Way of Seeing" within Each Individual

The true essence of creating something from nothing (0 to 1) lies in giving form to an idea and bringing it into the world. Participants will spend the program period as artists, using a dedicated atelier to create their own work and experience the world through an artist's eyes.

"Output-Based Learning": Not Just Knowing About Art, But Being Able to Use It

By challenging yourself to create art from an artist's perspective—that is, by producing output—you'll gain a more fundamental understanding of "what art is," "the process of creating art," and "how to discern good and bad art."

A New Community Forged Among Participants and Instructors

This is a diverse community that transcends age, gender, nationality, and profession, born from collaborating with instructors and supporting artists to create an exhibition together. The communities formed by participants and instructors from our past three programs continue to thrive today.
