Courtyard HIROO

We have set a goal to translate the western courtyard culture, which is not yet well-known in Japan, into that of Japanese. The most suited way for realizing such thought was to inherit a good-old building including all the surrounding nature, and rebuilding it. We encountered the 45 year old apartment house in Hiroo when pondering on such thoughts.
CONCEPT
We all share with people information of interest and something you want others to know using portable telephone and personal computers. Because we live in a world where many people realize shared values and happiness, we want to create a place where those authentic experiences can be shared. We wish to create a space in which to accept each other’s uniqueness and values of individuals, and for them to spend time together. The origin of such idea was the western courtyard culture. In a semi-public space filled with greens, people living in such courtyard relax, work, move their bodies, meet the freedom without boundaries and interact. That new type of lifestyle is spread from here.
SERVICE
GAROU
An art gallery that initiated at Courtyard HIROO. It includes all forms of art, such as photography, video, paintings and illustrations, three-dimensional art, and sculpture. We select artists from our point of view, regardless of their field, and artists are invited to present their works.
MOCHICOMI-Mochi Communication-
Since its opening in 2014, Courtyard HIROO has been committed to the concept of “Share the Real”.As we have become a part of the 2025 community, we believe that “sharing” is not about dividing something, but about bringing something together, which is why we hold the monthly “Mochicomi” event where everyone brings their own plans, products, special skills, etc.
