Potsdam Project

JAPAN HOUSE is a planned residential complex in Potsdam, a suburb of Berlin, Germany. It not only lays the groundwork for A-TOM's full-fledged overseas expansion; it also aims to define what Japan is abroad, by getting involved in housing abroad in terms of the concept of "Japan." German people select their living environments not only for work and efficiency, but for what they consider to be an ideal style of living. In this country, where the idea of sustainable urban development that emphasizes harmony with nature has been established for decades, we must consider how to propose a Japanese system of lifestyle values without imposing them. We must consider how to take advantage of our experience in Japan to do this. We will continue our pursuit daily in preparation of a 2018 completion date.
We will rediscover
what Japan is.
